Laid Back Labor Day 2008 Theme Poll!!

Laid Back Labor Day 2008 is just around the corner!!

Help us pick the theme for this years 18 and over festival over Labor day weekend!

Here are the theme submissions so far (Choose your favorite from the poll above!)

Showgirls, showgirls, showgirls
Oh my Gods I've been Laid"back"
Back That "Laid" Up
Laid Back to the 50's or 60's, 70's, 80's (basically pick the decade)
etc. and pimp out the themes, clothing, colors etc.
Laid Back to the Future! - A Special Tribute to Michael J. Fox
"Just Do Me" - That leaves it wide open to interpretation of all sorts, which "Laid Back" is all about.
Leid Back - As in a Hawaiian Lei.
Could hand out Leis and could make them out of a whole host of items, candy, flowers, etc.
A contest at the end of the week for who has been leid the most.
Naked limbo.
We already have poi dancers.
A catchy phrase with "I got Leid at Camp Gaea"!!!
The Great Banana Split - Ok isn't it time for a theme that
a.) really puts LBLD debotchery to the test.
b.) is unlike any other
c.) I can say soooo much more!!!
I see activities with this...
1.) top my banana
2.) whip cream bikini pagent
3.) virgin cherry stem tying contest
4.) lick-it-e- Split ( believe it or not I was actually seeing #4 as a slip -n- slide race across the ridge!)
Naughty Neverland - Think Peter Pan!
Activities:
Prettiest Pixie Contest in honor of Tinkerbelle (maybe tie
in with the Countessa)
Some kind of fun game in the with the Croc who swallows the alarm clock and Capt Hook's hand.
A tie-in to time or lack thereof
The Lost Boys,who are dressed in animal costumes - that could become some kind of campy vision quest sort of thing.
The Mermaids could tie into the Sundae Social we usually have on Sun AM at the beach with ice cream, etc.Vote for your favorite now!

Ok so since my idea is currently winning:clap:!!!! I have another great idea for an event....Pineapple races!!

We could get Pineapple rings, and you can't use your hands, but have to carry one across a set distance...and you have a partner on the other side and they have to eat it off of your "pineapple holder"!!! I have more ideas on the subject...but no one will find out unless "Leid Back" wins!!!

I thought this was an event that was for and about everyone that wants to attend? With activities that everyone can enjoy?

Ok so if "Leid Back" wins and I am allowed to help with organizing, I will welcome EVERYONES ideas, thoughts and comments, not just those of my own, or one group!!

So let's make this a Camp event and choose "Leid Back".

Who's "Tribe 3"?

Tribe Three is one of the groups that comes to Laid Back every year. They tend to have a huge "Tribe Three Experience" in the auction that rarely goes for less then 500 and many times over 1000 that includes a full day of pampering by about a dozen slaves. Which includes massages, food, drinks, etc etc etc :) Every year it's just insane what they offer in this "package" that goes into the auction which all proceeds go to Gaea :)

That's what Jai was referring to was sprucing help that package ;)

My point was that....Leid Back is a Camp Fundraiser... I was merely offering to help one of the big sellers :) Because Tribe Threee rocks :)

FRIED ICE CREAM???

OK... SO i GUESS NOW THE QUESTION IS... WHAT IS A PROPER BANANA SPLIT...?

What I found is:
1/2 cup scoop vanilla ice cream
1/2 cup scoop chocolate ice cream
1/2 cup scoop strawberry ice cream
1 large ripe banana
2 tablespoons chocolate syrup(or Hot Fudge)
2 tablespoons strawberry ice cream topping(or fresh strawberries)
2 tablespoons crushed pineapple
2 tablespoons wet walnut ice cream topping
whipped cream
cherries


But I've usually seen it mage with all vanilla ice cream and chocolate, pinapple and chocolate syrup...
and of course the banana , whipped toping and cherries...

I'm curious if there are other recipes...?

My Grandmother was a sodajerk in the 40's and when I was a child she used to make us traditional banana splits all the time. That looks right, but screw the measuring!! Here is how you make a perfect traditional banana split:

1 long dish
1 large split banana:banana:
1 scoop Chocolate Ice Cream
1 scoop Vanilla Ice Cream
1 scoop Strawberry Ice Cream
Pour Chocolate Syrup over the Chocolate Ice Cream til mostly covered
Scoop Crushed Pineapple over Vanilla Ice Cream
Scoop/Pour Strawberries over Strawberry Ice Cream
Spread Wet Walnut Topping over all three Ice Creams (can substitute chopped peanuts, or leave nuts of all together. I personally like my cream with nuts!!!)
Top each Ice Cream with Whipped Cream
One Cherrie on each Mountain of Whipped Cream.

ENJOY!!!! Damn I miss my grandma's banana splits!
