I just rolled into Wichita a week or so ago after driving from Massachusetts, and I found your website. I want to come up for the Labor Day bash, but I have a couple questions:

First, does the work exchange program count for the LBLD? I can't quite cover the 110$, unfortunately.

Also, I'm on a nationwide road trip by myself. I would love to find some friends to bring up there, but I don't know if it'll happen. Would I have fun going by myself and meeting people, or is it something you only want to do with a partner in crime, so to speak?

Thanks so much, you guys rule!

The workexchange program does happen for LBLD. When you go through the whole registration there is a point that asks you if you want to do work exchange :)

However, work exchange does not cover the meal plan at all. It will only cover your registration fees.

In regards to coming alone or not. The bonfires at night are a great spot to interact and meet people. The drums, dancing and energy just really helps people to open up.

It's definately an open event as opposed to a couples only. Many attendees do not always have a "partner in crime" ;)

LBLD is a pretty hefty first festival though. I'd advise coming out a few weekends or even coming out to the open ritual this weekend for Lammas to really interact with the community and get a feel for the land. LBLD has an energy and life all it's own that is alot different from the normal gaea universe. I'm sure partly due to the 18+ only atmosphere.

Hope this helps!

Awesome, thanks so much! I've spent plenty of time being all laid back for the past month or so, so I really want to let loose and get crazy. LBLD sounds perfect! Thanks for all the info, here's one more question for you. How many people are expected to attend? Roughly, of course. Thanks guy!

LBLD typically is about 250-325 each year.

Last year we had 320ish attend. It's the last big fundraiser for camp to help us through the winter bills so we really hope that as many as possible attend :) :)
