Bealtaine 2009 presented by Veronica
This year Camp Gaea’s Beltane will take participants back in time….before Gardner….before St. Patrick….back to a time when Fae were seen and heard by all…when milk and honey were poured on the fields for offerings to the Land Goddess for a good harvest…when Beltane was Bealtaine on of the four Celtic Fire Festivals. Come join us on this journey on April 25 at Gaea Retreat Center.
After many years of studying and practicing Celtic Reconstructionalism, I met very few in the Pagan community that know much about this path. This ritual will be different and, I hope, exciting for those who have been to many public rituals. For those who are new to Paganism, this will be an opportunity to participate in a path that is uncommon in our community.
Typically, the day would begin at sunrise, but we will improvise and start with activities around noon. We will build a fire to represent Samhain…the past…the things that were destroyed in Cailleach’s fires of the Otherworld through the Winter Season. If you would like to participate in the “clearing” ceremony, please bring a candle (small taper or tea light) that you have infused with what you want to leave behind as you start this season of plenty. (Smokers should bring a new lighter. All ‘old’ fires will be extinguished.)
Between the noon ceremony and 5pm, we will play games and have discussions about Celtic Reconstructionalism for those who would like to know more about the evening’s festivities. (more information will be posted on the website as we approach the ritual day)
Anyone who would like to participate in the ritual can email me???
