I know that it rains every year at Heartland and I was wondering if there has ever been a tornado at Gaea and what would be done in case of severe weather such as a tornado warning or the such?

I've been racking my brain trying to think of safe places and the only ones I could think of were the showerhouse but you couldn't possibly fit all Heartland attendees inside of there and the Pavillion but it's very open. Surely one would be blown away in a wimpy tent because those things shake like mad at the slightest winds.

People would be ushered down the hill to the lower buildings such as the cabins, main hall, etc.

The benefit of many events, such as Heartland is in the PA system in the pavilion as well as the pagan radio that HSA uses would be utilized to mass inform patrons. The safety personal that we require all events to have would help keep things sane and safe while everyone moved to a safe location. :)

We keep a constant watch on any alarming weather :)

There have been a few times the weather got concerning and I believe a year or two ago late in the year we had a warning and had to usher everyone downstairs. I think it was during the "Longest Walk" but I could be wrong.

You certainly are correct.. the last safe place would be your tent. :)

If someone was unable to get to the lower building areas before it hit, then the standard tornado safety rules apply including laying flat face down in a ditch or depression in the ground etc.

Here is some information on the fema site about Tornadoes and Tornado safety.
