I just wanted to send out a note to let everyone know the conditions of the
roads out here at camp. Please note: I understand that many of you may not have recieved much of the bad weather with this last storm, but believe me, it did not miss camp! :)
At this time, most of the paved roads coming to camp are patchy (we received a conciderable amount of freezing rain prior to the snow). The gravel roads are treacherous, as they are a solid sheet of ice, and they have only plowed a lane as wide as a pick-up. It is very narrow with two feet + snow banks and drifts on each side.
Here at camp, I have done some minimal plowing to allow access to beach
parking. It is in no way clear of snow, due to the ice and not wanting to damage the roads by digging too deep. From beach parking it is a walk up the hill, and even that is slick. Everything is covered in about 10 to 12" of snow with drifts up to 2'. Ditches have been impossible to see since they are all level with snow. I sank to my hip when I accidently stepped off the roadside.
PLEASE keep all of this in mind, if you decide to come out to Gaea in the next
few days. The forcasts I have seen thus far say that we will get more snow, so it could easily be this way for another week.

Happy Sledding!!!
Clint
